The International Economic Association (IEA) and Serbian Association of Economists (SAE) are pleased to announce the 21st World Congress of the IEA (https://ieawc2026.org/submission/) to be held in Belgrade, Serbia from 22 to 26 June, 2026. The 21st World Congress will be held at the Sava Convention Centre in Belgrade. Professor Elhanan Helpman is the current president of the IEA and professor Eric S. Maskin is the organisation's president-elect and programme chair.

As a member of the IEA, the Society for the Analysis of Government and Economics (SAGE) and the Academic Center for Chinese Economic Practice and Thinking (ACCEPT) will hold two sessions on the topic of government and economics during the 2026 IEA World Congress. The main goals of the two sessions are to deepen our understanding of the relationship between government and economics and to promote studies on the incentives behind government behavior and the impacts of government policy on the economy.

SAGE (http://www.sage-econ.org) aims to promote academic research on the subject of government and economics, including topics such as the incentives, behavior, and role of the government in an economy. The Society is a disinterested, academic organization avoiding political, social, commercial, or nationalistic bias. The current co-presidents of SAGE are 2007 Nobel Laureate and Harvard professor Eric S. Maskin, along with professor David Daokui Li of Tsinghua University. The Society has an open international membership, including members from the United States, Europe, and China, as well as from many developing countries.

The mission of ACCEPT (
http://www.accept.tsinghua.edu.cn) is to advance the knowledge of the discipline of economics with proper consideration of Chinese economic thinking and practice. The focus of the Center's research is on the study of government and economics.  Founded in April 2018, ACCEPT is led by its director, professor David Daokui Li.
