On April 15, 2026, the Society for the Analysis of Government and Economics (SAGE) hosted an online lecture entitled "The Economic Development of Nations." This lecture was presented by Zhang Jun, Distinguished Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dean of School of Economics at Fudan University, and Director of the China Center for Economic Studies. The webinar represented the twenty-eighth installment in SAGE's Lectures in Government and Economics Series.

Speaker Bio:
Zhang Jun is a renowned economist and currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dean of the School of Economics and Director of the China Center for Economic Studies at Fudan University. He has been recognized with a number of national-level talent awards. He is a Member of the Curriculum Review Group and Co-Convener of Theoretical Economics on the Eighth Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, Deputy Director of the National University Economics Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Director of the Degree Evaluation Committee of Fudan University and Director of the Department of Social Sciences and Management. He is also the Vice President of the Shanghai Economic Association, Director of the China Economic and Social Council, a Member of the Guangdong Provincial Decision-making Advisory Committee, and a Member of the Chongqing 14th Five-Year Plan Expert Advisory Committee. He was a Member of the Decision-making Advisory Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and a Specially-invited Researcher of the China Association for Promoting Democracy, among other roles. In 2015, he was awarded the title of Shanghai Advanced Worker. In July 2015, he was invited to attend a symposium on the economic situation hosted by Premier Li Keqiang. In October 2015, together with Lin Yifu and Fan Gang, he won the 7th China Economic Theory Innovation Award. In 2018, he won the Bergson Prize for Best Paper from the American Society for Comparative Economics (CES). In November 2020, he was awarded the title of Economist of the Year by China News Weekly. In 2024, he was selected to join the first batch receiving the Shanghai Outstanding Talent Award.
