On May 26, 2026, the Society for the Analysis of Government and Economics (SAGE) will host an online lecture entitled "The Four Major Transitions of China's Economy and Their Implications for Macroeconomic Policies." This lecture will be presented by Feng Xuming, Director of the Division of Macroeconomic Policy Research at the Institute of Quantitative & Technological Economics (IQTE) under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The webinar represents the thirtieth installment in SAGE's Lectures in Government and Economics Series.

Speaker Bio:
Feng Xuming is the director, a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Division of Macroeconomic Policy Research of the Institute of Quantitative & Technological Economics (IQTE) under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), director of the China Center for Comprehensive Economic and Social Integration and Forecasting, and professor of the University of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. His main research interests are macroeconomic theory and policy, industrial development and regional development, among other areas. Feng graduated from the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, where he obtained a doctorate in economics as well as bachelor's degrees in economics and law. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University, previously engaged in work at the grassroots level of a village situated in Gansu Province, and has been elected for inclusion in National High-Level Talent Programs. Feng has long been engaged in research work in the fields of economic situation analysis and forecasting, including five-year development planning, and participated in the research, compilation and writing of the Economic Blue Book as a major team member for many years. A number of his research reports have received commendations from China's central government leadership and he has twice won the Special Prize from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences for excellence in policy research. Feng is also the co-author of the book From Catching Up to Maturity: A Critical Decade for China's Economy."
